About
Us and Metanational.net
|
|
| This site was begun by
Yves Doz, José Santos and Peter Williamson - professors at the INSEAD business school in Fontainebleau,
France and Singapore, and the authors of From
Global to Metanational: How Companies Win in the Knowledge Economy,
from Harvard Business School Press -- and Mark Hunter, Senior Research
Fellow at INSEAD. The site is maintained by Hunter.
We think that the movement we identify among firms around the world -- toward a radically different competitive structure for multinationals, domestic competitors and start-ups alike -- is constantly growing in importance. That's one of the reasons we put up this site. It's another way of sharing the research that went into our book, and making others aware of it. But metanational.net is also a way to widen our dialogue with other scholars and managers around the world, about the future of global business. The "Managing Global Innovations" conference held at INSEAD on Oct. 24-26 was one step in that direction, and we will soon be posting materials from the scholars who were present. Reviews of books and articles and interviews with their authors are among the other content we plan to add to the site. We're hoping that we'll be hearing from you - to tell us about companies (maybe yours) that are dealing with the issues we've identified, for example. Conversely, we're glad to hear about different developments and ideas from the ones we've researched. We invite you to share news, speeches, or research that you think illuminate the paths corporations are taking - whether or not you agree with our own interpretation of what's happening. Meanwhile, thanks for visiting,
and we hope you'll come back often. |
